From time to time I hear from you,
Asking: Are we on, or are we through?
Have we lost something?
Because I am missing the thrill!
To me you're no longer real.
I thought of you as a diamond,
While you were a Tulip--
In disguise!
Not insignificant, nor bland.
You knew how to light the fire
In my eyes.

In many ways:
Your kiss, your breath,
The sunset!
Adrian, I said I'd stay
When the moon was quiet,
And when it was at play.
You thought,
I'd go...
No, no... I am still here
To let you know:
I hear your voice
In the wind.
I watch the stars display your name,
But all the same;
I watch them go to sleep,
When the snow is really deep.
For days
When the sky held only
The clouds,
I stayed away from crowds.
I am at home now.
From a closed window
Thinking of you,
I'm watching the snow
Becoming all aglow.

From Brooklyn Heights
Watching the city,
Repeating how
We'd never say goodbye.
Last night, again
I stared for hours at the sky
Wondered why:
So many sunsets
We left behind.
You'd think
For some reason I lost
My mind!
When I call you to come
Please don't cast me aside.
Tonight... the city... yes...
I will watch it with delight.
Holidays are here,
I'm hoping we'd reunite,
So our hearts could again feel
This beautiful
Array of lights!
