there was something in your eyes

unexplainable

but there nonetheless

a light

a spark

there was so much life in you

hidden beneath the surface

only let out when you saw fit

when you smiled

but i saw something no one else did

you let your guard down

when you thought no one was looking

but i was looking

and i saw

the light

the spark

shining deep within

and i loved you

i loved everything about you

you let me see what no one else could

the secrets

the pain

and i hurt too

you tried to mask it

let no one in

but me

when i left

it was just you

just you

and

your pain

and no one else

i wasn''t as strong as you

the pain was too much

i left you

alone

and soon your smile

faded

your eyes

clouded

it wasn''t long before

the light

the spark

went out

and you were gone

and i still loved you
