In silent time the Earth spins and turns
Tightly bound to the Sun so bright;
Within its breast a love that burns
In endless darkness of the night.

Can you not see, do you not know
How like the Sun you are to me?
As Earth must Sun in Heaven follow,
Where you shall lead so must I be.

And none blocks my path to your side
Which nightly I again retrace;
No body can eclipse or hide
Your warmth or touch upon my face.

As stars (so loves) cannot conceal--
Your fiery kiss shall bid me rise,
And the day awaken to reveal
Once more your face before mine eyes.

Then caught in your immortal glare,
Held gentle in your warm embrace,
I only live, I only care,
To pull still nearer to your face.

For stronger yet than Newton force
Can turn two bodies and so align
Your inner path, my outer course,
That made you in conjunction mine.

And ne?er a thousand, thousand years
Can Fate deny what God made one,
Nor bear away in flood of tears,
For you-- my love, for you, my Sun.

For, as Earth does the Sun revolve
Drawing light and warmth from its rays,
So I, in orbit round you, resolve
To love you ?til the end of days.
