For me it's been a real long week.

And while it's raining there in Waterbury
It's been a moon-filled night by me.

Of the bright-lights in the distance you told me,
And how the old town-house gets lonely!

And when I heard of the bright lights of the night,
For me this was a sure 'invite.'

You said it was our first rendezvous with luck.
I could not help, but be dumb-struck.

Guided by the inner-thoughts unraveling:
'I was this village girl traveling.'

But if it was not for your strong insistence
I would have not gone this distance:

On the superhighway solitaire!
Yes, I would have stopped half way there.

Nothing prepared me for this superhighway,
Or the beauty the stars portray,

But you said the rain was coming down heavy
It carried away the levee,

And it broke away part of the old highway.
The night got dark clouds on display.

All is so unsettled, just like the high sea:
Rain by you, stars all-aglow by me.

But surely I'll always be a fan of yours,
When there's starlight or when it pours.

In the rear view-mirror no site of Brooklyn.
Must be this confusion we will win?

Nothing prepared me for the superhighway.
Must be I got carried away.

I look skyway the dawn's approaching is clear.
The storm is no longer severe.

You're coming my-way, the sun is in full gear.
I knew we would persevere.
