These words I share are aching
My breath is short and thin
And my fingers are slowly taking
The hope I?ve shared within

My lungs, they are now gasping
My throat is raw and sore
I shiver here... I tremble
I don?t want this anymore

I wonder where your are
Asleep and safe in bed
I know I should be sleeping
But my eyes are glazed instead

The phone... it stopped ringing
Your calls, they never come
And everything?s now fading
As my body now lays numb

I clear my throat and wipe my eyes
The pain is creeping in
I won?t fight this anymore 'cuz
I know I cannot win

My thoughts came back to haunt me
For months I?ve shut that door
And I was happy to let them go
But they?re stronger than before

My body will recover
And my mind will find a way
I tried so hard to have you
But now I?ll run away?
