When you move around with a grim face,
It is always a new-moon day in our house.
But, when I saw you smiling today,
I felt like I was looking at the moon of the second day.

Now, I long to see your laughing face,
That would remind me of the full-moon days.
How long should I wait to see you laughing
With your face bright?

What compulsions and restrictions do you have,
Like the moon and the other planets have?
Open your heart and laugh, thus taking my worries away.
I tell you, dear, I can?t wait any longer;

Laugh and spread the Moonlight
From Corner to Corner.
