in the warmest of embraces
there is always a sense of withdrawal

in the midst of your lover
there lies your enemy

in the happiest of places
there is misery

in the prettiest of smiles
there holds a lie

in the happiest of homes
you can smell fear

it`s a scary feeling you try so hard to hide
...it's the people you love and live for
and sometimes you just don`t know why you do

and it`s the feeling
of not wanting to let go
of something you hate
which sends shivering chills up your spine

and the cold unwanted tears
that you want to leave but you can`t
and it's the feeling of disappointment
that keeps you forever hidden

you can sense it,
you can feel it,
it's everywhere you go
the tears, the love, the misery
it`s all mixed together

sometimes
you can`t even tell the difference
because it's a part of you
and you know no other way
...of love
