Lying on the sand
I watch Brooklyn's
Fiery sun

Multitudes of thoughts
Are going through my mind

We shared love
'D e e p' like the ocean

You left--
Not as though you were not
Returning,

But implicating, it is
The freedom you are yearning

I stopped
At the red light,
It seemed a fraction of a moment

Waited
Only to see you not coming

And then a call--

The audacity you had
To ask to be 'pardoned'

On some page
Of tomorrow...
You will find a lesson life has given
Not to look for things once 'abandoned'

Once...
Right here
We'd 'deep' in ocean waves--
So ferocious;

We shared this sand with crowds
And watched the Brooklyn's fiery sun
Burn our skin

Now...
We let desire sleep
Submerged in watery suds
And watch Atlantic

How so deep...
It arbitrates in beauty
